Product Overview
Do you find beauty in brokenness? I hadn’t, until I learned of the ancient Japanese technique Kintsugi . It is a method of filling cracked and broken pottery with gold to repair it. Kintsugi means “joining with gold.” This art of filling something that is broken with gold is a historical practice that honors the history of a broken object while transforming it into something more beautiful. The cracks are highlighted, not hidden.
We need not to just accept imperfections and brokenness in ourselves. Instead of seeing something broken, we can appreciate how much beauty is added. In brokenness there is beauty and transformation.
The Golden Journey Ring will be a reminder, that you can wear daily, that all the different pieces of you, even if they are currently broken or have been in the past, form something so beautiful. A symbol of hope and healing. Your experiences have refined you and shaped you into someone you could not be otherwise.
Each clay stone will be individually shaped and filled with gold. Making yours unique to you. Your beauty is your own.
A few years ago, Steph experienced a miscarriage. It was a time of heartbreak and loss, but amidst that pain, a dear friend gifted her a necklace inspired by the kintsugi method. This beautiful piece, with its golden lines filling the cracks, symbolized something profound—that even in brokenness, there is beauty and transformation.
That necklace became a symbol of hope and healing.
That’s how the Golden Journey ring was born.
